Background
Today, many consumers own wearable devices such as smartwatches. As a result, drivers are often distracted by alerts and vibrations coming from these devices while driving.
Insight
However, we discovered that in car racing console games, vibration is used to guide players on where to go next or to warn them when a collision occurs.
Idea
So we combined this function with smartwatches and proposed “PULSE,” an app designed for drivers. Like a game console, the app uses precise vibrations to guide drivers, such as signaling when to prepare for an intersection or warning them through vibration when a vehicle is in their blind spot during a lane change, helping create a safer driving culture.
